CATHERINE J. ROWLETT, ESQ.

Catherine J. Rowlett has extensive experience in insurance matters, banking, real estate, unfair business practices, contracts, securities, disability accommodations and employment law.

Her legal career commenced in 1995 at the firm of Lewis, D’Amato, Brisbois and Bisgaard where she handled insurance coverage disputes and litigation. From 1997 until July of 2003, she moved to the national law firm of Arter & Hadden. Her experience at Arter & Hadden included, among other things, acting as cumis counsel in litigation, the audit and monitoring of legal costs for insurance companies, and addressing cumis counsel issues and insurance coverage matters.

Her clients included financial institutions, including BMW Financial Services NA, LLC, a national health club chain, restaurants, banks, international corporations, court-appointed receivers, and hospitals.

She practices both in state and federal courts, as well as the Court of Appeal. Her versatility in legal procedures is evidenced by her successful disqualification of counsel, as published in a decision by the bankruptcy court, In re Jaeger, 213 B.R. 578 (Bkrtcy.C.D.Cal. 1997). This case is frequently cited by legal treatises, as well as in other court opinions.

Ms. Rowlett has also served as a director for both the Federal Bar Association, Northern District of California, and for the County of Orange. She also served as the Editor-in-Chief of the Newsletter, which won a national award from the organization.

Ms. Rowlett received her Bachelor of Arts degree in International Relations/Economics with a minor in French, from Claremont McKenna College and her Juris Doctor degree from University of San Diego Law School. She is conversant in French and Korean.
