Christina Yu joined Hershorin & Henry, LLP in 2008. Ms. Yu has an extensive experience in civil
litigation. For the past 16 years Ms. Yu has successfully handled jury and court trials, and has a broad
and practical breadth of experience.
Representing title companies, escrow companies, lending institutions and individuals in the
areas of title, escrow, real property, lien priorities, bad faith and coverage disputes and general
business litigation, Ms. Yu has enjoyed a notable success rate and most recently has been upheld
by the Appellate Courts in her last four straight lower court victories involving unrecorded lease
interests, mechanic's liens, void grant deed and bona fide encumbrancer issues and judgment liens.
Complimented frequently for her quality writing and analytical skills, and for her responsiveness to
client needs, she focuses on providing the highest quality representation in as open and expeditious
manner possible.
Just prior to joining Hershorin & Henry, LLP, Ms. Yu was a Vice President and Associate Counsel of
Fidelity National Title, a Fortune 300 company traded on the New York Stock Exchange. At Fidelity,
Ms. Yu litigated hundreds of cases, handling upwards of 30 to 40 cases at a time, involving title, escrow,
fraud, contract, validity of instruments, foreclosures, easements/boundary disputes, trusts, estates,
and bad faith issues and related tort actions, and successfully resolved and tried cases on behalf of the
escrow companies, and the title companies and their insureds. There she built upon the experience
she had gained at the law firm of Lewis Brisbois Bisgaard & Smith LLP where she handled cases in the
areas of real property including easement disputes, real property title disputes, insurance bad faith and
general civil litigation, and specialized in early dispositive motions.
Ms. Yu obtained her Bachelors of Arts degree in English from UCLA where she was also a Co-
President one year and a Vice President the year prior of the UCLA Chinese Student Association. She
received her juris doctorate from Loyola Law School of Los Angeles in 1995, and began her legal career
trying criminal misdemeanor cases for the City of Los Angeles as a volunteer Criminal Trials attorney
where she won jury and bench trials as a first year attorney. Subsequently, she joined the firms of Stoll,
Nussbaum & Polakov in Los Angeles and Campion, Rodolff & Van Riper in Orange County where
she first gained her widespread experience in civil litigation working on general civil litigation matters
including personal injury prosecution and defense and participating in all aspects of civil cases including
numerous mediations, arbitrations, and trials.
